According to a just released Fox News report, Sheriff Joe Arpaio, the self-proclaimed “Toughest Sheriff” is living up to his billing by digging in his heals and fighting back against the U.S. Department of Justice …

Sheriff Joe, the report indicates, has “filed an appeal to a federal ruling that his office profiles Latinos and bases immigration enforcement on racially charged citizen complaints.”

You may also recall from our earlier updates, that Arpaio has repeatedly asked the DOJ for clarification into the charges against he and his staff — clarification that the DOJ has yet to provide.

Arpaio has also been very outspoken in accusing the DOJ of a politically motivated assault against his department because the Obama administration is courting the Latino vote. Arpaio alleges his commitment to law enforcement is getting in their way of getting votes.

Even worse, the DOJ has stripped Arpaio’s officers of their Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) credentials — further eroding law enforcement capabilities and putting millions of American citizens at risk!

Although no surprise, the fact that the Obama administration and the DOJ would put Americans at risk for the purpose of appealing to Latino voters is utterly offensive.

This isn’t an Arizona problem.

This is an America problem!

Media more interested in pushing amnesty than the facts on illegal immigration

Millions of Americans are unemployed.  State and local governments are under tremendous financial pressure, much of which is caused by having to provide hundreds of billions of dollars in benefits to illegal immigrants and their families.  The Obama Administration is slashing funding for border enforcement,  and instead of covering this outrage and the financial burden caused by illegal immigration, the liberal media prefer to generate sympathy for those that are breaking the law.

• CBS Evening News featured a report on Alabama’s tough new immigration law.  The reported centered around a family that has been here illegally for 13 years.  The piece portrayed them as living in fear, but brave enough to stay an fight an unjust law. (NewsBusters.org 11/24)
• NBC Evening News’ Brian Williams and Kate Snow reported on Alabama’s new immigration law, brazenly comparing it to segregationist laws of the past with Snow stating, “They feel like Alabama blacks of the Jim Crow era.” (NewsBusters.org 11/15)
• NPR ran a report from a pro-amnesty rally, comparing illegal immigrants being made to follow U.S. laws with victims of a civil rights era bombing in the 1960s. (NewsBusters.org 11/22)
• MSNBC contributor Melissa Harris-Perry took the week of Thanksgiving to make the on-air declaration that the Pilgrims were illegal immigrants. (NewsBusters.org 11/26)

The liberal media have clearly chosen sides in the immigration debate and the rule of law doesn’t matter to them.

+  +  As the liberal media are pushing amnesty, they’re mum on the work of their friends in the Obama Administration dismantling what little border enforcement is in place.

MRC’s CNSNews.com reported this morning that the Obama administration has slashed spending on border fencing, infrastructure and technology, cutting it by more than half since it peaked under President George W. Bush in fiscal 2008.  This leaves 1,300 miles on the US-Mexico border unfenced. As commander in chief it is President Obama’s responsibility to secure our border; he’s not doing it and the media are happy to ignore that fact.

The Obama Administration has increased annual spending by almost $1 Trillion since 2008, yet they’ve chosen to cut spending on border fencing by 56%.

As the topic of illegal immigration becomes a top news story due to the Republican primary debates, new laws passed, and the costs of illegals at all levels of government, the liberal media are ignoring this bombshell story.

The guy on this video must be a teacher. Not only does he put a different spin on what Obama is doing to help Arizona, he repeats the important parts and speaks slow enough to follow what he is saying. It may be the best video I’ve seen produced on the illegal alien problems that we have.
